Raising Healthy Kids Naturally - Move it or ______ it!!!!

Ok, everyone knows how to fill in the blank, right?

Move it or LOSE it…

But lose what? I remember as a kid, my parents used to use this line when I was sitting in front of my Xbox playing hours of NCAA Football :football: dynasty mode. I always had a vision of my feet just shriveling up and falling off if I didn’t get up. :scream:

Now, that’s a quick pro-tip of how to get your kids off screens! But we all know scare tactics rarely work! :flushed::joy:

But seriously, what if you really did lose a powerful tool by not moving enough. Truth is, this is partially true.  Your Brain :brain: is 100% fueled through your body's movement when the body is moving smoothly and efficiently.

Remember sitting through that zoom :female-technologist::skin-tone-4: meeting, computer work, or long car :blue_car:ride? The first thing (after your leg falls asleep) that happens is that you start to feel distracted, get brain fog and you start to get physically tired out.  Tired out without doing...

Eat, Sleep, Poop πŸ’©, Boogers, and Sneezing - The Best Blog Ever LOL!

Love video - get the full "scoop on poop" and more above!

Love to read - we get real life, real practical, and real nerdy below!

Enjoy!

Hi Parents,

The subject line of this blog contains the 3 main "jobs" a healthy baby is designed to do - eat, sleep, and poop !

Honestly, sticking with the "keep it simple" theme of the previous email in this "Raising Healthy Kids, Naturally" series... if your baby does those three things well, or did during their infant stage... they're on the right path to good health.

But as simple and cute as it sounds to rattle those off, there is quite a bit of intricate development and function that a baby needs to learn quite quickly to get up to speed on all those things all at once.

What's really quite cool is that each of those 3 jobs is controlled by one primary system in the body, and also 'connects' to one main area and nerve. Yep, we're talking about the Central Nervous System and brain stem area once...

Keeping Your Health Team Simple

It's a big decision to choose what "path" you want to take with the health of your child, so choosing the best doctor and health care team to guide that path is absolutely crucial. (PS: You'll want to keep reading to hear all about some awesome giveaways!!)

... and let you know a little secret that most people and parents don't know about health these days.

Health is actually super simple.

We really can break it down to these main 'Core 4' elements:

  1. The nervous system is the boss, make sure it's functioning at full potential and power at all times.
  2. Movement ‍ is life - for babies, kids, all of us.
  3. Sleep   is everything - you can't get too much.
  4. Live clean - kids and chemicals don't mix.

As we continue the series we'll now break down simple, practical, easy-to-implement steps for each of those Core 4 elements and also explain the science and reasoning behind each one!

Next up - nerding out with neurology...

Choosing a Health Guide for your Family

For a long time, it was accepted that really the only thing that determined the health of our kids was their genetics. The Gene Theory  basically stated that humans are “coded” for either health or various forms of illness and disease… and that there isn’t much you can do about it.

Thankfully , once that theory was actually researched and studied, it proved to not be true. We learned that our environment and lifestyle ‍have a lot more to do with the health outcomes of our children than their genetic code, through a concept called epigenetics

As parents, having an understanding of how this works can honestly be both exciting and scary! It’s exciting because it means that traditional medicine ‍ was way off base and for the most part, our children’s health is not just left to random chance and good or back luck. But it’s also a bit scary because it truly means we have more control and say in...

How far can my child go?

“When will Kelly start talking?” The question hit me like a ton of bricks. Kelly now a 6 year old had been under care for the last year and a half. Mom and dad received her Autism diagnosis at 3, and like so many other parents, started searching for anything and everything that could help.

Through a friend's invite they attended the Perfect Storm workshop and started care the next week. Much of her sensory, behavior and sleep challenges were incredibly improved. She’s been able to thrive in her therapies, with her siblings and in school...but that final goal on her intake hadn't been met. Speech. What do I say? How do I say it? I thought to myself. What is mom going to accept, how do I encourage, and also be realistic?

Kelly’s mom had been to all our workshops and we had a great connection talking during each adjustment and at each progress checkpoint. We’d had great conversations on the way the body heals, and the phases the...
